Tear Stain Plus Lutein Soft Chews for Dogs and Cats

Tear Stain Plus Lutein Soft Chews take an oral approach to tear stain support, pairing lutein for eye health with cranberry, eyebright, and marshmallow root to help support a cleaner, fresher look around the eyes from the inside. This VetClassics formula is designed for dogs and cats over 12 weeks of age.

Visible facial staining can be influenced by several factors at once, including diet, tear duct drainage, and coat color, which is why this chew is meant to work as part of a broader daily routine rather than a single fix.

What Are Tear Stain Plus Lutein Soft Chews?

These soft chews are a daily supplement formulated for dogs and cats, combining lutein with a blend of herbal ingredients and vitamin C. They're designed for pets prone to visible tear staining, particularly light-coated breeds where staining is more noticeable.

Key Ingredients: Lutein, Eyebright, Cranberry and More

Each chew includes a defined ingredient blend:

  • Cranberry Extract, 105 mg
  • Oregon Grape Root, 34 mg
  • Calcium Ascorbate (Vitamin C), 34 mg
  • Eyebright Herb Extract (Euphrasia officinalis), 30 mg
  • Marshmallow Root, 23 mg
  • Omega-3 Fatty Acid (Flaxseed), 10 mg
  • Lutein, 2.5 mg
  • Omega-6 Fatty Acid (Flaxseed), 2.4 mg

An Oral Approach to Tear Stain Support

Unlike a topical wipe applied directly under the eyes, this chew is meant to help support a cleaner look around the eyes from the inside, working alongside your pet's daily diet rather than being applied to the fur itself.

Tear Stain Chews for Dogs and Cats

Tear Stain Plus Lutein Soft Chews are formulated for both dogs and cats over 12 weeks of age, making this a suitable option for multi-pet households dealing with visible tear staining in more than one type of pet.

Why Tear Staining Happens

Visible staining around the eyes can be influenced by several overlapping factors, including diet, how tears drain from the eyes, and a pet's natural coat color, which tends to make staining more noticeable on light-colored fur. Because multiple factors are usually involved, a single approach doesn't always address the full picture.

Combining Chews with Topical Wipes

These chews are often used alongside topical tear stain wipes for a more complete routine, addressing the issue from both the inside and the outside. You can find topical grooming options in Stratford's Skin & Coat Care collection.

Supporting the Immune System Alongside Eye Health

Beyond their role in eye and tear stain support, these chews include vitamin C and herbal ingredients to help support normal immune system function as part of daily wellness. For pets needing more targeted immune support, Stratford's Immune Support collection has additional options.

Who Is This Product For?

This chew is a good fit for dog and cat owners dealing with visible tear staining, especially in light-coated pets where staining tends to be more noticeable, and who want a daily, food-based approach alongside their grooming routine.

How Long Until You See Results

Because this is a nutritional support chew rather than an immediate treatment, it's designed for consistent daily use. Allow several weeks of regular use before evaluating whether it's making a visible difference for your pet.

Dosage and Directions

Give one chew daily with food. Consistency is important, since the ingredients are intended to work cumulatively over time rather than as a one-time fix.

Product Size

Tear Stain Plus Lutein Soft Chews come in a 60 count container, sized for regular daily use over several weeks or longer.

When to Ask a Veterinarian

Tear Stain Plus Lutein Soft Chews are intended to support a cleaner look around the eyes as part of routine care, not to diagnose or treat an eye condition. If your pet shows signs of eye redness, discharge, squinting, or sudden changes in tear staining, talk to your veterinarian to rule out an underlying issue before relying on a daily supplement alone.
